 Why Your Paint Is at Risk & the nightmare is real

You just rolled out of the shop with a shiny new set of tires, and they look great. Naturally, you grab your favorite tire shine to get that deep, wet look.
A few days later, you notice tiny, rubbery brown dots splattered along the side of your car. You try to wash them off, but they won't budge. If your car is white or a light color, those spots have already left a permanent yellow-brown stain.
What went wrong? You’re dealing with a nasty combination of (tire sling) mold release agents, and TIRE BLOOMING 

The Culprits: Mold Release and Antiozonants 
When tires are manufactured, they are baked in a heavy metal mold. To prevent the hot rubber from sticking to the machine, manufacturers coat the mold with slick release agents (often silicone- or polymer-based). When you buy a brand-new tire, that sticky, invisible chemical barrier is still sitting right on the surface.
At the same time, tires are infused with a chemical called antiozonant. Its job is to continuously migrate to the surface of the tire to protect the rubber from UV rays and ozone degradation. When it hits the air, it oxidizes and turns a dull, brown color—a process known as BLOOMING 


How Tire Shine Triggers the Damage
When you apply a wet or solvent-based tire shine or water based  to a brand-new, unwashed tire, a chemical reaction occurs:


 1.The Dissolve: The tire shine acts as a heavy-duty carrier, dissolving both the leftover mold release agents and the oxidizing antiozonant.

2.The Sling: As you drive, centrifugal force flings this chemical cocktail right off the tread and onto your vehicle’s quarter panels and doors. Creating a huge nightmare that will keep you up at night.

3.The Cure: Once on your paint, the mold release agents exposed to heat and air begin to cross-link. They harden and cure, creating a tough, rubbery film that resists standard car soaps.

4.The Staining: The antiozonant oils quickly leach into the porous clear coat of your paint. On a white vehicle, this permanently dyes the paint layers underneath. Even if you manage to polish off the rubbery residue, the ugly brown pigment migration remains. At this point the only answer is to re paint.

How to Protect Your Paint
To prevent this nightmare, you need to wash brand-new tires aggressively before applying any dressings.

Scrub Them Immediately: Do not rely on a standard car wash.

Use a dedicated, heavy-duty tire cleaner or a strong degreaser along with a stiff-bristled brush.

Watch the Suds: Scrub until the foam turns completely white. If the suds are brown or grey, the mold release and blooming oils are still present.


Choose the Right Dressing: For the first few weeks, opt for a water-based tire dressing rather than a harsh solvent-based one, and apply it sparingly to prevent sling.

IF YOU MUST, PREFERABLY DO NOT APPLY ANY DRESSING TILL YOU ARE SURE 


If you already have these stubborn brown spots on your paint, you will need a specialized solvent or a heavy-duty tar and adhesive remover to safely break down the rubbery layer before attempting to polish out the stain. Be very careful and do not be deceived, new tires is not a short cut to a easy way out. A 5 minute saver could cost you a new paint job.
